DATA RECOVERY FAQ
At Sector Logics Data Recovery, we understand that you have questions and concerns about how the data recovery process works and what happens to your hard
drive when you send it to us for data recovery.
We have listed answers to the most common questions we are asked below; if you have any questions that are not addressed here
or elsewhere on our site, please do not hesitate to call us toll free at: 1-866-804-1914.
Frequently Asked Questions about our Data Recovery Services:
- Q: What happens after I send in my hard drive?
A: Once we receive your hard drive, the drive information and serial number is entered into our tracking system and the drive is labelled
with a unique ID number and the owners name. Then the drive is evaluated to determine what is wrong and a quote is
generated with the projected cost and estimated timeframe to recover the data.
Once the evaluation is complete, we contact the client with
the quote to see if they wish to move forward with the recovery. If they decide the cost is too high, we
can either recycle the hard drive or return it to the client.
- Q: How long will it take to recover my data?
A: Of course, the time required depends on exactly what has gone wrong with the hard drive, but normally software/logical failures
and common physical failures are recovered in 24 hours. More severe physical failures are usually recovered in 48 - 72 hours, depending
on the specific problem.
- Q: How is my recovered data returned to me?
A: Normally we return data to our clients on either CD or DVD, or on an external USB hard drive. If you supply us with a hard drive,
we can copy the recovered data to it at no charge. In cases where the size of the data is less than 1 GB, or some time-critical files are
needed, we can load the data on a secure FTP server and provide you with a username and password to download the files.
